Part of Delaware county Preservation Parks and great place to visit no matter what age. Two easy 0.4 mile trails take you thru some very distinct features of the Hogback Ridge area.

In 2000 and 2001, The Nature Conservancy purchased 5,445 acres on the Palassou Ridge southwest of Coe Park. In 2001 the State purchased that property from the Nature Conservancy for $2 million. Private property and Santa Clara County Open Space land not open to the public currently border this property, thus limiting public access. OSA made its first major purchase of property in 1999 -- 3,207 acres on Palassou Ridge, east of Harvey Bear Ranch-Coyote Lake County Park. In May 2002 it dedicated its first trail to Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve above Alum Rock Park. Since then it has acquired some 16,000 acres, of which 7,000 are now open to the public. Palassou Ridge : Establish open space preserve, restore historic stone house for visitor center, develop multi-use trails connecting to Henry Coe State Park, and implement wildfire prevention and habitat restoration projects.
